Dh: Unrequited Love Poem by Sleinez Robs

Dh: Unrequited Love

Deceive me not, my heart, for I am drained and weary
Aren't you tired of hoping and waiting? The nights has gone dreary
Never will it happen that he will love you back
Enough, my heart, be still. It is time to fall back

Just wait and you'll see, how this love is for free
And I did not ask him to love me back, you see
River of love flows within me
Love unrequited, it is what it is
Oh how it hurts so good, its venomous kiss

Better than wine but left me disappointed
A sweet smelling fragrance of love unrequited
Sober from it, left me misguided
Even his voice, how it makes me elated

Hinder me not, for this love is true
If loving him from a far is all I can do
Please forgive me, my heart, in case you got crush
Over waiting and wanting, and loving him in a hush
Love that is pure, a love that is unconditional
It is not about ownership, not even physical
Take a piece of my heart with you, let it remind you
Of a selfless, untainted love I have for you

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Unrequited love is just so pure. loving someone without expecting them to love usback. For me love is not about ownership. it is about wanting them to be happy and healthy even though you are not part of their happiness, nor their life. Basically, only wanting what is best.
