Did That Just Happen? Poem by Max Catterwell

Did That Just Happen?

Did that just happen?
Was I mackerel smoked and dusty?
I feel that the crusted, gnarled, and road eaten Shoes that cramp upon my feet are enraged and
dissident.
Objecting to the obsession driven brain that
floats so ambiguously within the lately
fractured skull.
I came here seeking shelter but find instead Another question, and it's always the same;
Is this the answer?
Truly lost in the aching, I resolve to sleep.
