Die Before Your Name Does Poem by Kwame Sarfo Aboagye

Die Before Your Name Does

Alexander the Great, William Shakespeare, Napoleon –
Their names live like they’ve just been born.
The actions you take, the impact you make,
Keep your name living centuries after you’re gone.
But leaving a bad name is like killing your clone,
The one which to stay alive you’ll need;
For it’s better to die unknown
Than to be remembered for your evil deeds.
Try to leave a long lasting legacy,
One which you’ll be remembered for.
Use all of your time and energy
To be all you can be and more.
So that when your time’s run out and you’re dead,
Your name will still live in our heads.
