Disappointment Poem by EWJ Stardog

Disappointment

We try and live our lives,
But can’t always be saints
We lock our souls away
Behind the golden gate

We lookup to the heavens
For the one we can trust
Only to see our souls begin to rust

They say you’re my savior
The king of kings, but as I
Look around I just want to scream

Women and children consumed
In every way, only leading to our
Social decay

You look down from the heavens
Above, but you look confused
With nothing to say you turn and
Walk away as you watch your
Children wasting their lives away
