Divorce Poem by Cathryn Martin

Divorce

Rating: 3.5

Lover's spiffs are natural,
They happen all the time,
Just over the little things,
Childish quarrels really.

Mainly they work out okay,
The result, a bruised ego or two,
But sometimes they can go on,
No talking to or fro.

Until, one day you find,
You don't feel anything anymore,
After that last big fight,
They found you unconcious on the floor.

Now your filing for divorce,
It's happening once more,
Another house, another life,
Can this go on much longer?

Yes, it can go on,
Cus now you've learnt the lesson,
Love is not lust,
And love does not control.

Love can go on forever,
But it isn't just one way,
Love has to burn strong,
Not just flicker flame,

That goes out,
With
One
Last
Breath.....................
