Divorce Is For Kid Dashaun

Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
A young mind, torn apart,
His world, once whole and bright,
Has now been shattered, by a mere mistake of the heart.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
His days, no longer filled with laughter,
The love he knew, now gone,
Leaving him, in a state of disaster.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
A sudden change, he cannot comprehend,
His family, now divided,
His heartache, seems to have no end.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He sees his parents, in a whole new light,
Their love, once so strong and sure,
Now replaced, with a constant fight.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He clings to memories, of a happier time,
But those memories, now tainted,
By the pain, of hearing his parents' chime.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He wonders, what he did wrong,
Was he not enough, to keep them together,
Why did they have to break their bond?
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He feels like an outsider, in his own home,
Caught in the middle, of a battle,
He feels lost, and all alone.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He longs, for things to be the same,
But his reality, is now so different,
And it's hard, for him to accept the change.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He struggles, to understand,
Why his parents, couldn't make it work,
Why their love, had to come to an end.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He sees his friends, with their happy families,
And he can't help, but feel a twinge of envy,
Wishing, his life was still full of such simplicity.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He tries to hide, the pain he feels,
But it's hard, to mask the hurt,
When his heart, has been through so many ordeals.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He knows, he's just a child,
But he can't help, but feel responsible,
For the divorce, that has left him exiled.

He dreams, of a world without this pain,
But the reality, is still the same,
And he wonders, if he'll ever feel happy again.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He tries to cope, in his own small way,
But his heart, is still in pieces,
And he struggles, to make it through each day.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He knows, he'll never forget,
The pain, of his parents' love that died,
Leaving him, with a lifetime of regret.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
But he's not just a statistic,
He's a child, with a heart that's broken,
And he needs, more than just a statistic.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
His parents' decision, has scarred him for life,
But he'll rise, from the ashes of his pain,
For he knows, in his heart, he'll survive.
Divorce is for Kid Dashaun,
He may have lost, the family he once knew,
But he'll find, a new kind of love,
And that love, will help him see this through.
Divorce is not for Kid Dashaun,
For he is more, than just a product of divorce,
He's a fighter, a survivor,
And his strength, is what will guide him on his course.
So let us not, define Kid Dashaun,
By the divorce, that tore his life apart,
For he is more, than just a statistic,
He's a child, with a strong and resilient heart.
