Do not be surprised seeing me listening to the songs
Of violence and crime beating with carnal fires
Do not be disturbed of my joy as their audience cheers
Which are all able to move my whole organs.
My miserable heart also for songs of angels longs;
The songs that king of men made with golden wires,
In which I imbibe the peace of nature’s pangs
Instead of chaotic caress that pop culture fires.
In all these I am looking for the least bits of you;
In bits of you, I’ll find both war and peace designed.
In these opposites, I can see when your anger is due
That your temperament is with kindness combined
With these in you, I will define my concepts anew
In listening to you, then, my new pleasure I’ll find.
