Do One Thing Poem by Phil Walder

Do One Thing

If you're hearing this, I must have gone
Not out to lunch, or having fun
Not sitting laughing with my friends
No, this is where my story ends

It would be good to sit and listen
To everything that has been written
To all the nice things you will say
Yes, that would really make my day

Despite the fact it would be clear
You wouldn't say them, were I here
It's funny how they're only said
When the subject's good and dead

So please do one thing for me, pray
Don't leave it for another day
Turn to your friends, and family too
And tell them right now, I love you.
