Doesn'T Matter Poem by Ashleigh Gaffney

Doesn'T Matter

When you look at me, what is it you see?
Or am I something, you don’t want me to be?
When I place my hand upon you, what is it you feel?
Or is it just something, you’d rather not have to deal?

If I give you an option, what would you choose?
Is it just a game, and I have no option but to loose?
Or it like a cigarette, you want more but shouldn’t inhale?
What’s going to happen next, just another time to bail?

I am a girl, neither left nor right
I am here, but maybe not in sight.
I proved my life to you, but it doesn’t seem matter
Because my feelings to you are like blood splatter.

I know what I want, I knew it from the start
You were never there, not even for a part.
I’m tired of trying, please help me out
I don’t know what to do, I’m filled with such doubt.
