I knew long ago it wasn't going to last.
You only confirmed it the other day.
Your usual demands
and your usual coldness did the trick.
Even your mother was way off key.
Now I'm telling you once and for all -
don't stay forever.
Don't play your little game with me any longer.
You've been doing my stuff with another guy.
Don't say no, it's likely so.
you couldn't look me in the eye when you spoke.
It's obvious there must be someone else.
Your excuse of being busy just won't do.

Don't tell me no.
Now I'm telling you once and for all -
don't stay forever.
Do me that one last favor.
I know you'll be glad to be rid of me
as I will be to be free of you.
There wasn't anything binding between us
so it won't make much difference.
Never mind the tears.
I know there won't be any that are real.

Free to go on with him.

Free to find someone who won't try to change me.

We were much too different to begin with.
