Don't Wake The Shepherd Poem by John Chvirko

Don't Wake The Shepherd

Don't wake the shepherd
let him sleep
weary and lost
in forest deep
when he awakes
promises to keep
to find himself
then his sheep

don't wake the shepherd
dawn is nigh
he prays and hopes
when morn is high
to calm the lambs
lest they cry
and be with Jesus
by and by

let him sleep
o let him sleep
let him sleep

Don't wake the shepherd, is a profound metaphor in not longing for the shepherd's return, don't know to what end it will be for any individual.
