Double Play - Poem by Juan Varela

“To sleep with you
it is to be twice alone
it is the square solitude”*
a stressful exercise
of telepathy
trying to link up
my remote amour
to avoid the annoyance
of your breathing
bringing to life
the smile on her picture
stimulating my senses
in lethargy
to get the wireless orgasm
that keeps my verve running
to endure you one more day

*Joaquin Sabina
