Dream And Memory Poem by Paul G. Kallen

Dream And Memory

Rating: 2.5

Based on Marilyn Friday’s idea

What’s higher: memory or a dream?
The first came first and gave an order,
“You must keep sailing downstream,
Or else, you go under water”.

All right, the order was correct
Until a whirlpool made it foolish.
I had few seconds to perfect
The memory becoming ghoulish…

A dream can also capture thee.
The wildest one looks like a tyrant.
Sometimes to dream is to foresee,
Of course if you are clairvoyant.

So many dreams arise and die
As evolution means selection.
Each dream is able to survive
By leaving vivid recollection.
