Dreams Poem by Jeffrey Clark

Dreams

You are the most beautiful woman
Under God's sky
You don't know how long
I've wanted to tell you
But I was afraid
Of what we might become
Or that you might think
That it was just a line
You are more than I expected
And more than I had hoped
But to hope
Is to recognize the possibility
I only had dreams
But dreams can be dangerous
Except these dreams weren't
I dreamt of a galaxy
Where your eyes are the stars
And the universe worships the night
You might say
That putting you on a pedestal that high
That I might not be able to reach you
But if I do
Then I'll learn how to fly
You are the heart in my day
And the soul in my night.
