Drifting Apart Poem by Alexander Foald

Drifting Apart

Flares soaring into the night
Divides the dark by a line of light
Like a dream riding on the comets passing me by
I watch them come and go, and I just don’t know why

Like riding a bullet train
Going faster than any other thing
Our hearts melt into the speed of love
Keeping up the pace while slowly drifting apart

Daydreaming with each individual mind
I’ve seen your secret, have you seen mine?
We’re getting lost and keep losing time
And we can’t make up what now has been gone

But somehow I’m not getting tired of you

You are the flares dividing my nightly sky
You are the dream riding on the comets passing me by
You’re the ticket of the bullet train taking me home
You’re a movement in my mind when I’m all alone
