Drops Poem by Eric Paeplow

Drops

Drops of life, drops of rain,
in each, perfect reflections can be seen
Of the very essence from which they came,
now returned again
One by one they fall,
to renew the world from which they came
Each dropp an expression of life,
be they love, rainfall or pain

Drop by drop, falling at a breathless pace,
the torrent grows
Great shimmering pools form
as the drops splash down
Like welling love, or swelling lakes,
each cresting their banks
Spilling over to the world around,
quenching the soul, quenching the ground

Each dropp given and each dropp taken in,
regenerates life again
By greening of the landscape,
or building up the warmth within
Like the pouring out of emotion,
or the pouring down of rain
Both results the same,
energy spent,
means life again sustained

Instincts, like umbrellas,
can shield you from the drops
But neither can stay the stream,
nor prevent the rain
So raise your face to the sky,
feel the rain and wash away your pain
And free yourself again,
like drops of life, or drops of rain...
