Drown Poem by andrue finley

Drown

Drown

Every once in a while I allow the sadness to flood me full.

To let the pain burn intense and fester and bruise.

To let the tears shower and my body to quake

To bring in an intense headache

I allow the sweetest of memories to flow deep inside. Then let it turn sour to crumple and die.

To let its corpse rot and the toxic fumes rise

Letting the stench irradiate poison my mind.

I open myself and let it all flow in.

This is how I know I'm human
