Drunken Unrequited Love Poem by John Oluwadunjoye

Drunken Unrequited Love

Rating: 5.0

my consciousness is slowly slipping away
like my love for the world
you I swear I can't do with away
like a knight with his sword

I want to be very committed
like a Christian to his Bible
beside you forever I'll be seated
like a car idles

I'll burn away my fragrance to the gods to let us be
and swim away lost in lovely dreams
just to show you we are meant to be
I'll prove to you by every means

which is why I'm heartbroken to hear of your lovely demise
you said you don't love me
that your love for me is as far as the world to the skies
please I'm begging you I'm still on my knee(ls)

now I'm left all alone, once again with my liquor
I feel blood is dripping from my heart scars
angrily I've burnt and cursed my heart and her pictures
yet I can still see her in the stars
