Dulce Et Utile Poem by SAIPRAKASH KUNTAMUKKALA

Dulce Et Utile

DULCE ET UTILE
UTILE ET DULCE
When I started writing
I never thought my verse will have a purpose
Neither I aspired for any accolades
I arranged each word that came across my mind in an order that I could read back
On seeing a bird, matchstick, a puppy or even a soap
I scribbled on papers white
The letters in black speaking to me
To arrange, rearrange them
I never heard their demands
As I always believe in thought process rather in brainstorming
To me prose and poetry are emotions that cannot be altered or contained
They have a hidden purpose
For the reader and the poet alike
On each reading the inner core reveals
Utile et Deluce
Deluce et Utile
Useful and Sweet
Sweet and Useful
No one can guarantee
They will be in the right proportion
Poetry is no math neither an equation
On the contrary an art full of emotions
A smile and tear portrayed at the same time
A war of the minds which results in eternal peace
Sketching the unseen
Explaining the inexperienced
The hell, heaven and paradise
