Durga Poem by Uma nair

Durga

Rating: 5.0

Ladies brought
The vastra
A sari, an odhini
Jewels and a crown
Men brought
The objects
A conch shell
And chants
To dress Durga

Age after age
When deeds decay
Evil prevails
Sacred duty
Paves the way
Durga appears..
Avenging Goddess
Nurturing Mother
Goddess revealed

Durga beckons
The drum beats
Hasten the
Deity's darshan
Durga deepens
Faith and flames
In revealing
The sensuous
And the sacred
