Each New Day Poem by David Self

Each New Day

Every Day Is New
Each morning slips in soft and bright,
A quiet gift of fresh daylight.
The yesterday we carried through
Has stepped aside; the sky is new.
The roads may be the same we know,
The trees may stand, the rivers flow,
Yet every dawn begins again,
A chance to heal, to hope, to mend.
Some days arrive with clouds and rain,
Some bring delight, some carry pain,
But every sunrise seems to say,
"Begin once more—this is your day."
No matter what the past may keep,
Or dreams that faded in their sleep,
The world unfolds a page anew,
With room for all you're meant to do.
So greet the morning without fear,
Its promise starts the moment here.
For life renews in light's first ray—
Every day is a brand-new day.
