Eastern Promises - Poem by Vivienne Chen

Do svidaniya
We say goodbye in Russia
I never get a
Do svidaniya
Not even a brusque farewell
Maybe a curt nod
Or a tip
As I lay on the bed slip
Dreaming of Ukraine
In a land where the sun rises
Why do I only see it set?

-Based on the movie Eastern Promises
