Eden Forsaken Poem by Ronny Self

Eden Forsaken

Two worlds in which I know;
One buried beneath the snow.
Though there through yonder portal
Lies the secret to being mortal.

Where once in perfection we were held thrall,
Or so we thought when we learned all—
But we could not out-know death
And paid for truth with breath.

How it was we hurt for thought—
Eden burned for what we sought;
And do all over the things we must
So we can vanish back into dust.
