Effects Poem by Richa Ray

Effects

I should be miserable
I thought, so much
beneath him and her.
Sipping a glass
of ruin, it has
that vile effect.

But I have
a distinct remembrance
a portrait for appreciation;
Silly to try
to approve, or disapprove
of anything now.

Being engaged has
that excellent effect.
Through thoroughly stupid thoughts;
Through the noblest of motives.
A great difference made
if only one noticed.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about the effects I experienced when one day I woke up and everything had become ten times more difficult than it used to be.
