Elusive Key Poem by Wendy Moravec

Elusive Key

I try to keep paralyzing fears from my brain.

But they enter through some secret door.

I thought I could lock that door.

But the key is beyond my reach, too far.

If only I could reach just so.

I’d be okay, afraid no more.

Would someone hand me a ladder?
