Empty Chair Poem by Terry Charles

Empty Chair

As I gaze at the empty chair
I miss him not sitting there
Without him I feel alone
The house is silent and cold
Who will comfort this crying heart
and wipe away my tears
Now we are apart
As I am feeling very low
A knock comes at my door
At the door a dear old friend
She puts her arms around me
and speaks comforting words to me
Words that brought tears to my eyes
Tears of happiness
Because somebody cared
