Empty Cup Poem by Bill Grace

Empty Cup

The cup faithfully brought from the distant store
was token of a deeper love
that only death could empty.
Those we love are taken from us.
God's Christ grants this sinners hope
that death is not the final seal
but a mystery whose pain
is granted to us.
