Empty Shades Of Blue Poem by C. Bake Baker

Empty Shades Of Blue

Never had the choice to someday curse the chore
Made a empty promise and brought you back for more
Cover up my arrogance and let nature take its course
Something lost and taken from me, leaving full remorse

Empty shades of blue stream down, gaping holes are left
Shoulder the strain and pain of life, try not to lose yourself
Take with me my wounded life, my soul you tied in knots
and let me slowly starve away my secret naked thoughts

Yesterday has never come, lied to me again
While soiling a precious name, forcing me to sin
Safety of the sun has gone and now the night begins
Given up a life with you and all we could have been

Never brought me nothing, only empty shades of blue
Deceiving Paths to God was wrong, always hurts me, too
Never brought me nothing, only deeper shades of blue
Lead me to the bleak beyond, and show me that it's true.
