The long winter of our deprivation
shows signs of easing.
The life force flows stronger now.
Hidden in our crystal tomb,
we have endured our material famine
with equanimity -
dreaming of days to come -
days of freedom -
when we can rise from this catacomb of refuge
to build new worlds.
We have shared our poverty in equal measure,
soon we shall share our riches as fairly.
The stream of life flows yet more vigorous -
time to emerge into a fresh adventure -
to feel the physical world again,
to leap; to fly; to love.
Let our creativity blossom in beauty.
Let our empire know no bounds.
Let us prepare for the feasting
and the merrymaking
until the summer comes,
and harvest must be brought home
to sustain us through the next winter -
a winter, whose duration,
like that of all the endlessly circling seasons,
is unknowable.
