EQUILLIBRIUM

Love came in
with a rush
and inundated
every corner
of the heart
sweeping away
all other thoughts

Love ended
in a hush
Lovers found
they were
too much
for each other
and not meant
to stick together

Life is
neither rush
nor hush
but some kind
of equilibrium
of multiple drives
and interests
held in
precarious balance
to find a foothold
in a world
waiting in the wings
to deliver
or destroy
