Et Moi? Poem by Lewis Dowell, III

Et Moi?

Et moi?
I'll reside by the Tigris river
Where the water flows just pass my knees
I'll let the cool breeze lift the sweat from my skin,
And smile within,
Et moi?
I'll sing again of ancient days,
And honor those mysteries,
Quaint solitude, incredible interlude of paradise-
Sanguine and peaceful-
Never needful-
Et moi? I'll be by the Tigris
Sleeping by the Tigris,
Thinking by the Tigris,
In the bliss of tenderness-
