Eternity Poem by Colin Wood

Eternity

How can words be enough?
Is one word on a page enough
to convey a feeling?
How can what we say feel all that is there?
Is this word all there needs to be?
Should there be more?
A wish, a statement, a scream,
A single breath, an outward sign, a gesture, an expression,
What else does there need to be.

Are four letters ever enough? (it never feels enough) .
Can a river of tears flood the feelings in your heart?
To the smile reach your eyes?
Or does the sadness burn inside...

What can I do to prove I want you?
How can I hold you endlessly?
When I cant say I'll be there (by yourside)
Am I enough, can we be enough, please be enough.

to show I care
I will try
After all these years
I'll still try
