Etude Poem by June Stepansky

Etude

Light shimmers
through louvers.
The empty bed
rumpled
is an open wound.
A newspaper
lies on the floor,
its date blurred.
Outside,
gardenia winds
rustle the leaves
whispering,
come back
come back.
