Eve. Poem by Brian Green

Eve.

Rating: 5.0

Eve.

Lonely eve was admiring
The fruit of knowledge one day.
When along came satan
With his evil way's.

He said thy eyes
Look taken to
That which is not.
With these sly words
He did plan his plot.

Why not eat of
It's flesh and open
Thine eyes this day.
You will know god's heart
And you will know god's ways.

Eve was now struck
By it's beauty and power.
She could cast away
Her innocence
Just like a flower.

Her lust for it's fruit
Filled her with desire.
As satan said, thou shalt not die,
For god is a liar.

The world and it's beauty
Now held it's breath.
Her curse for sin
Would be
The birth of death.

Dark temptation
Now kissed her cheek.
To betray her heart
And make her weak.

A broken sadness
Now fills the air.
As she pluck's the fruit
Without a care.

Her luscious bite
Sinks hard and deep.
Condemning the world
To an endless sleep.

Great was the joy
Of satan that day.
He had broken god's heart
And broken god's ways.

The downfall of mankind
Was now complete.
Born of hatred
And born of deceit.

Poor adam did not know
What had taken place
He would be next
In this loss of grace.

Banished from heaven
Throughout all time.
Until god's redeemer
Destroys this crime.
