Exodus Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

Exodus

Rating: 5.0

In the grand scheme of life, we all have a fate
A path set before us, predetermined by some higher state
We may try to resist, to fight against the tide
But destiny always has a way, to guide us and provide
Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon
We too must earn our wings, not given but honed and hewn
Through trials and challenges, we learn to soar
And with each step, we inch closer to our destined door
We may stumble and fall, but we must never give in
For within us lies the strength to rise again and win
With every hurdle crossed, our wings grow strong
And we fly higher, to where we truly belong
But in this journey, there may come a time
When someone may try to steal what's rightfully mine
They may clip my wings, and try to hold me down
But destiny won't let me give up or frown
For even if my wings are taken away
I will find another way, to enter the endless sky
With determination and perseverance, I'll find a new path
And my destiny will guide me, through any aftermath
Exodus from the chains that once held me tight
I spread my wings once more, and take flight
Through the storms and the winds, I'll keep moving on
As my destiny beckons me, towards a new dawn
So let us embrace our destiny, and all that it may bring
For it is our journey, our story to sing
We may earn our wings, or have them taken away
But we'll always find a way, to reach the sky and stay.
