Exploring The Inner I Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

Exploring The Inner I

Where is it written that I must obey
What ever feelings from the inner I say
I have experienced the whole long way
Loyalty to nature's genetic purée
The time has come for this known me
To venture forth from certainty
Let's see what my imagined stories can be
Thoughtful intentions create possibilities

What I have been all these years presents
As a launching pad for the present tense
It's a foundation for some future events
Distilled from memory's my mind contents
Creating prospects is thought intense
Acting from experience my best test
Of practicality and emotional expense

Intelligence suggests that my differentness
Is experiences proposing adventures hence
Crafted in carefully choreographed advances
Takes me to heights of new found relevance
Continuing forward into intense instances
Immersed in new found experiences
Where it will take me I can't now express
Since this is the beginning no one can guess
