Faceless And Fragmented Poem by Mary Champion

Faceless And Fragmented

Desensitized faceless bureaucrats,
appointed by self-serving minsters,
in hock to over-mighty fat cats
and their AI powered familiars,

have fragmented human society -
each one of us isolated in
our identity singularity -
fearfully suspicious of our kin.

Human contact kept to a minimum,
a wall of apps is built between us.
Our call is never important to them -
it feels as if no one has seen us.

But it's not only them. We can't ignore
our part in the plight we discover,
when it so often seems we are no more
of much importance to each other.
