I wandered out and little did I know
That the breeze was strong and cold like snow
And for the first time in a while
I could not wait to see the sun gleam with a smile
For a tropic skin that could not stand rain,
Here I stood in blithering pain.
But the trees were warm and gentle still.
Aging gracefully and out of their own will.
Knowing that things will get better with time.
And so did the birds in synchrony did they chime
To let me know that there are many days ahead.
I'll be tossed and blown without sleep and rest to my head
Did not spring blossom after the terrible cold?
Did you not achieve more than what you were told?
Be it in a gentle breeze or rain
After the leave fell, did they not spring back to life again?
I will grow stronger and bolder and learn to gracefully lose
And learn that the key to success lies not in opportunities but the decisions you choose.
I walk now away from this confidently as a happy man.
The cold will go away and I will soon be able to do anything I can.
