It was meant to be a brief stop
where we could have some harmless fun
and no one was meant to get hurt

I was meant to tread the water
never knew it could get this far
now my heart took over, I have no control

you had me hanging on your every word
I kept coming back for more
each time I wanted to stay a little longer
just to spent a little more time with you

I told you how I felt, but you said it's not love
what was I to do? I kept my cool

for every piece of me that wants you
another piece has to back away
every time it gets too close I have to leave
just before you feel the need to gasps for air
It's all because i do really care

You had me at a cross road
Every choice comes with pain
How was I to choose?
Frozen in my confusion
I prey for the strength to let you go.
