Falling Apart Poem by William Brooks

Falling Apart

I see it. The reason why I dropped us.
I never meant for it to hurt you.
I never thought it was true.
Now I can't stop the ground.
(IT'S PUSHING ITS WAY UP!)

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart!

My strength is failing.
My arms are flailing as we fall.
We've stopped ours screaming,
As we look into eachother eyes.

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart!

As we walk down the streets alit by moonlight,
We live in the serenity of midnight.
Step-in-step, hand-in-hand, face-to-face.
We kiss in the dark

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart!

You loved me for real.
I shoved you aside, afraid to deal
With the fact that it might work.
That this might not hurt.

I don't know how
(I've hid this pain)
When you're gone
(It's much to worse)
So please
(Stay with me)

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart!

A nice conclusion to this days end
Your words seem to bend,
We watch as we twurled...
Now it's up to you to lead my world

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart!
