Falling Rain On A Wildflower Poem by May Mustang

Falling Rain On A Wildflower

Rain upon a wildflower
The grasses beginning to bow
The forest is damp and sleepy
In the meadow
Bending down to kiss the petals sweetly,
Almost plucking the beauty
But not going so far
Just pulling so that you can feel
Your roots leaving the softened earth,
Your dew drenched petals facing the sky
So afterwards you can go back down,
Believing
The word on my lips
As I fall to my knees weeping
A wildflower in the rain.
