Family Poem by Dana Ghaffari

Family

An old big house in the middle of downtown
With a beautiful garden, Filled by our planted flowers

Siblings and parents
One better than another
I give you my word
You can not find kinder

My flesh and my blood
You're the only ones I want to send you all my love
Forever and always

My cries and my smiles
You're the thoughts in my mind that I always sleep on
Over and over

I hug my dad's eyes
They're symbol of real life
I kiss my mom's heart
It's the origin of deep love

My sisters are as butterflies
They're the reason of sunshine
They always teach me how to fly
When my little wings are paralyzed

I can see the mercy of god
In my lily nephews faces
When they call me their uncle
I'm about to kiss gods hands

I have gone to sleep with their lullabies
I've smiled with them when I see them smile
Tears have fallen from my eyes as I see them cry
Every one of them has made a part of my life

I got taller by my dad's age growing
I got stronger by my mom's face wrinkle
But I wish I could never grow older
I don't wanna see my parents with white hair

For me you'll never be over
Cause at the end of your name
Is I l y
Forever you're stuck in my head
And you won't ever be forgotten
And I love you for my entire life
