Far Away... - Poem by Chonthicha Bunjung

Morning Sun shines itself every new day.
Afternoon light burns the ground on high ways.
Evening birds call their family members home.
People rush on the buses, trains and cars.
But my mind was asking that where you are.

Far away from where you have gone.
I wonder how you are and what you do.
You are my shadow in every step I go…
Not even a single day you are not in my mind.
You are my first thought in the mornings.
You are my last fall when the nights bring.

Life goes on and on…
Oh darling, sometimes I can’t breath.
My heart breaks in pieces and torn apart.
My mind speaks no languages.
My eyes miss wonderful moments.
My lips run out of the words to say.

So far away from where you are…
The distance of a different world…
The distance of a different will…
The distance of a different soul…
The distance of a different goal…

How long this could be…
How long could this pain end?
How long could this rain stop?
How long could the sun shine on me…again?
No rain, no pain but only a rest.

Our happy laughs hearing from the distance.
Loads of tears pouring for a waste(?) .
All times, writings, callings are buried (?) .
Somehow…hoping… someday…
If we mean to be…then it means to be…
Because we are so far far away! ! !

You have captured the sadness and the pain of having someone so far away fom you. It is the emotion felt by millions of workers doing overseas employment by force of circumstance. I wrote a poem on the homecoming of an overseas worker expressing the joy of being reunited with loved ones. (Report)Reply

Beautiful and haunting, Chonthicha! Made me feel sad and alive at the same time.

A lot of confusion in your poem there, hurt but happy at the same time. Happy is because at least there is someone for you to think of. Sad because you have to be far apart from that person. Try to write more dear friend. It'll help you to reduce the pain inside. (Report)Reply

I like the simple and sunny way you write for us to read
