Far From Heaven Poem by Okello Baloyi

Far From Heaven

A black child introduced to a foreign religion, which conflicts with African cultures, white men had drifted through oceans to Africa just to conquer the continent with Christianity!

Let's say heaven exist, will I go there or have you earned your way to heaven, and why would I live in hell while I'm alive and work my way to heaven, merely to go there when I'm no more!

Surely going through the holy book feels like revising my grandmother's story of how the world will end, another one-sided history with no participation, why the other race is superior to another?
