Fasciae Poem by Kevin Patrick

Fasciae

Signed my heart into a first class penthouse
Luxury suite as sweet could be
Perfect one man castle
So I wrecked it
and no one heard

400 hundred manicured windows staring
sins playground hard at work
Lights flicker full of action
full of stories to tell
all of loneliness

soaked in a bubble bath in a marble tub
Big enough to hold a whole town
I swam in crystal rose water
Razor on a gold dish
And water went red

And I put on a face, to meet and face the world
Dressed sharp like a knife, ready to stab
Bravado coming through my pours
Cologne making the man
Hiding animal fear inside

In this cage, we're trained to call paradise
Listening to life elevator muzak roll
Styled in mannered etiquette
Always wearing sunglasses
Even when we never do
