Fata Morgana Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Fata Morgana

Across the sands, a shimmer bright,
A city rose, in golden light.
A fata morgana, grand and tall,
Where he and she heard a call.

They reached for it, with hopeful eyes,
A world of wonder, a sweet surprise.
But shadows danced, and whispers crept,
Their happy dreams, the mirage kept.

The city swayed, a fragile thing,
Their loving hearts began to sing,
A song of truth, a bond so deep,
The mirage faded, secrets to keep.

The desert stretched, both hot and wide,
But he held her, side by side.
The fading image, lost to air,
Revealed a spring, beyond compare.

Clear water flowed, beneath the sun,
Their journey's trial, was finally done.
They built a home, beneath the trees,
Their love a haven, in the desert breeze.
