February Poem by Lilyann Monahan

February

That February evening is finally over,
she was left crying in the cold.
The only witness was the moon,
and nobody for her to hold.
She was so serene and modest,
it all caught her off guard.
The person that she loved the most,
from his house, he had her barred.
She had no choice but to walk away,
crying boundless tears of fear.
She had 2 hours to drive alone,
she thought her house would never appear.
She learned what the man was all about,
and warned so many times,
but she gave to him her heart and soul,
and earned them back with many climbs.
