Fighting Dawn Poem by Keshav Kumar Phokeerdass

Fighting Dawn

I am here now...
At the porch of a cliff dominating the sea...
Above me, lies a heaven still dormant....
The soft whisper of the leaving night still fills the air...
My lonely heart once again feels complete....
Then the chirping of the nearby birds announce the rebirth...
Before my sleepy eyes, the golden embodiment rises...
Like the Phoenix regenerating itself...
Darkness fights in vain to detain its supremacy...
But life of the beings uprises leaving that of the things in the fading gloominess...
