Fill This Cup Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Fill This Cup

Rating: 5.0

“Oh Lord, the world’s in deep despair
I seek Your face on high
There’s drought and famine everywhere
And starving, children die

Make me; a cup on Zion hill
A basket full of bread
That all who come may eat their fill
And rise up from the dead

For greater things You said they’ll do –Jn.14: 12
Who walk the path of Light –Jn.14: 12
Who through Your word are born-anew
Whose sin has taken flight

You’ve washed me clean broke all my chains
You gave to me life’s Seed
Within my heart Your love now reigns
Your servant’s free in deed

Lord all You have I know is mine
Your promises are true –Eph.3: 6
So fill this cup with Heaven’s wine
Allow me serve the few

Pour forth Your Liquid Light inside
Give rich Your choicest meat
That from this basket open wide
The world may come to eat

The glory Lord is Yours alone
Honour! You’ll give to me!
If through this pot of flesh and bone
Your truth the blind may see

If from within new life You’ll pour
Till those yet dead receive
Till those yet lost find Heaven’s Door
Who through this cup believe…
