Fireflies Poem by Skylark Woodrow

Fireflies

As you walk me to my house tonight the leaves are whispering in the breeze,
The wind flutters through my hair,
And the fireflies dance in the air.
The night is cool and my heartstrings are being pulled.
You turn me around,
And quietly say that you've loved me since the first day.
My heart is aflutter as I reply that I too have loved you all along.

The fireflies light the way,
And all of a sudden we are at my door,
The night is over,
Our time is up.
You gently kiss my forehead and say,
"There will be other nights,
And other days,
And I'll love you just the same."
